Asbury Academy
is an inclusive homeschooling church school for parents in Alabama.  We are a ministry of Saint Junia United Methodist Church.    Founded in 1991, Asbury Academy is dedicated to providing information, resources, support, experience, fellowship and fun to homeschooling families in Alabama.

Please note: For the safety of our families, our meetings for the 2020-2021 year will be conducted online.

Asbury Academy was formed to enable parents to take responsibility for their children's academic, emotional and moral growth through teaching at home. We believe in the family and in its ability as an institution to instruct children in the most positive and loving environment possible.

Our purpose is to help you, as homeschooling parents, by supporting you in this endeavor.  We strive to help you by offering informative faculty meetings, as well as social and educational events for the children. We also maintain a permanent record for each child enrolled.

Asbury Academy was formed to allow people the opportunity to instruct their own children in the religious belief system that is personal to their own family. We therefore require no statement of faith, but rather trust that those families who take the responsibility of educating their own children will seek to educate those children in their personal religious faith as well.

We strive for educational excellence. We are never too old to learn. That is one beauty of homeschooling your child; you will grow as a teacher as your child is growing. We hope, as a member of our faculty and as a parent, that you will continue to be open to new ways of growing and learning.

Dear Alabama Homeschooling Family,

Welcome to the web home of Asbury Academy. If you are looking for a homeschooling church school cover, we'd like to encourage you to  look around and explore our site, or contact the administrator directly,  Laura McKenzie
for information.
We welcome you to the challenge of educating your own child. We hope that the coming school year will be a time of growth for both you and your family. We hope you'll visit the rest of our website to find more information about Asbury Academy and what you can expect from our organization. We want you to become familiar with us, how our school operates, and what we can offer you, as well as what we expect from our faculty members. We want to hear from you. We are more than happy to listen to ideas for improvement. Let us know if any of our forms or procedures get you in a snag! We look forward to working with you this year. Please let us know if there is any way that we can be of help to you as you educate your child.

For the safety of our families, our meetings for the 2020-2021 year will be conducted online. We are planning, as always, on sharing helpful resources, ideas, and activities. The online format will allow us to do this safely while still provide a meeting where parents can learn, share, and ask questions.

Warmly,
Laura McKenzie
